Sewage Works Exhibition, Guest Lecture, and Science Live!

Although it is already the latter half of August, it is still hot here in Izumo, Japan. Since the beginning of this month, Kendensha has been busy with events.
- Sewage Works Exhibition '25 at Intex Osaka (29 July - 1 August)
- Guest lecture on intellectual property by our representative at Matsue Technical College (8 August)
- Science Live Event by Teacher Genki Ichioka at Kunibiki Messe (11 August)
This blog post reports on these three events.
Sewage Works Exhibition '25
The Sewage Works Exhibition is Japan's largest exhibition of sewerage-related businesses. We brought KDS Dewatering System and the Electrico-osmotic dehydration tester to Intex Osaka.
As this is an event specialising in the sewerage field, most visitors were from local governments and plant design companies. The demonstration of electro-osmosis dewatering was particularly eye-catching. When used in combination with KDS Dewatering System, it is possible to reduce the volume of difficult-to-dewater sludge by 50%. As spaces are limited in many Japan's wastewater treatement plants, this technology has potentials to be installed in many sites in the future.

Intellectual Property Lecture
Following an invitation to participate as a panellist at last year's ‘Connecting Patent Office in Matsue,’ our CEO delivered a lecture on intellectual property at National Institute of Technology Matsue College.
The lecture lasted 90 minutes! While we often have opportunities to explain our products and services to customers, we had never before spoken continuously for 90 minutes. Additionally, the audience consisted of young, diligent students. There were quite a few voices within the company expressing concern for him, but it seems to have gone well. When it comes to patents, the focus tends to be on related laws and regulations and practical application procedures, which can be a bit dry. However, everyone listened attentively and asked questions actively.
Thank you so much to everyone at Matsue College. We look forward to seeing you become outstanding engineers supporting Japan's manufacturing industry.

Teacher Genki Ichioka's Science Live
We sponsored Teacher Genki Ichioka's Science Live, hosted by the Sanin Chuo Shimpo, a local newspaper publisher.
Mr Ichioka runs the popular YouTube channel ‘GENKI LABO,’ which explains science in an easy-to-understand way through fun experiments. He is very popular among elementary school-aged kids who love science and affectionally called 'Genki-sensei' (Sensei means teacher in Japanese). Genki-sensei's wish to make children love science and increase the number of future scientists and engineers is something Kendensha strongly resonate with.
On the day of the event, the children of Kendensha employees also joined as audience. The 60-minute science show featured exciting demonstrations such as the giant air cannon 'Air Bazooka', searching for everyday objects that glow under blacklight, and experiments using liquid nitrogen. The finale, where clouds instantly formed using liquid nitrogen and hot water, was truly impressive. This special day during the summer holidays will surely remain in the children's memories.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Genki-sensei, Yuppi-san, and the other staff members of GENKI LABO, as well as the staff of the Sanin Chuo Shimpo who invited us. We look forward to future opportunities.
